Grace & Peace! We welcome you to a great church. The Plains UMC is a church with a long tradition and a penchant for moving forward. We are a church who believes deeply in being in ministry with our neighbors who live around us and our neighbors who live halfway around the globe.

We love to laugh! We worship passionately (in different ways)! We serve others as a natural response! We have a busy building, but we are a church who is always looking for new avenues of service to others.

We invite you to settle in and become part of our family! It’s a wonderful place to call home. We are blessed by your presence among us and look forward to seeing how we can work together to share the love, grace and mercy of God to those around us.

Feeding your family can help support our church food pantry!

Our church’s Helping Hands Food Pantry will benefit in December from a local business, Gourmet Your Way. Love to eat but don’t have time to prepare good home-cooked meals? Gourmet Your Way’s “Raid the Freezer” is a great solution – family dinners, frozen and ready to cook, are made in Athens and offered for sale by Jonathan Leal and his culinary team. There is a “Raid” event about every 5-6 weeks at ACEnet on Columbus Road, and each Raid benefits a local non-profit.

On December 10, “Raid” will benefit our Helping Hands Food Pantry – 10% of all sales will be donated to our pantry. Your family can help by ordering from Gourmet Your Way for the Dec. 10 “Raid.” If you would like to try out Jonathan’s delicious foods before the Dec. event, you can order from his Nov. 5 “Raid” that will benefit “Friends of the Shelter Dogs.”

For more details on Raid menus, dates and times, location, and how to pre-order, please visit www.GourmetYourWay.biz. Jonathan has an optional email list for notification of each “Raid.” Ask Lynn Anastas or Anita Yates in the church office – we are already regular customers!
